You’ll have a personal assessment with Dr. Shammi so she can determine a bespoke plan for your acne or acne scarring treatment. We take every preference into account and explore all available options, both oral medication and non-medication approaches, so you can make an informed choice.
If scripts are required, they are provided within the consultation. All in-clinic treatments can be scheduled upon checking out with our friendly concierge team.

The Process
Following your consultation with Dr Shammi, a treatment plan will be carefully tailored based on your clinical suitability, the nature of your acne and your financial considerations. This may include oral medication, AviClear, or a combination of both, depending on what is most appropriate to achieve the best outcome.
The consultation is designed to align your treatment needs with what is both clinically effective and realistically sustainable, ensuring a clear and considered path forward with your full consent.
Prescribed skincare can be purchased in clinic following your consultation. If a particular product is not stocked, clear guidance will be provided on where to source it.

Initial Consultation: $370 for new clients
Review Consultation: $265 for returning clients
Medicare rebates may be available for the consultation, subject to eligibility.
AviClear pricing will be discussed on the day should you choose to move forward with a non-medication option.

Q: Does DOCTOR SHAMMI perform acne treatment in the Sydney clinic?
A: Yes. DOCTOR SHAMMI offer AviClear, a non-medication laser treatment for acne, in both our Melbourne and Sydney clinics. For convenience, prescription medications can also be e-scripted to cliients anywhere in Australia via a Telehealth consultation.
Q: Can I have my consultation via telehealth?
A: Yes. Consultations are available via telehealth if you wish to explore treatment options prior to commencing care. While AviClear does not require a consultation to proceed, we recommend a review approximately 12 weeks after your final session. Consultation fees may be credited toward AviClear treatment, subject to terms and conditions.
Q: Is oral medication available for acne treatment?
A: Yes. Dr Shammi may prescribe oral medication where clinically appropriate or preferred. Treatment plans may include oral medication, at-home skincare, and in-clinic laser therapy. Your consultation is an opportunity to determine the most suitable approach for your skin.
Q: If I proceed with treatment, can my consultation fee be used toward treatment?
A: Yes. The consultation fee may be credited toward treatment when booked on the same day, subject to terms and conditions.
Q: Does private health insurance cover the consultation fee?
A: No. Consultation fees are not covered by private health insurance.
Q: Is a Medicare rebate available for the consultation?
A: Yes. A Medicare rebate may be available for eligible clients, for both in-clinic and telehealth consultations. A valid GP referral is required.
Q: Do I need a referral?
A: A GP referral is required if you wish to access a Medicare rebate. Otherwise, referrals are not mandatory for private consultations.
