understand BBL®
Refining redness while addressing visible signs of ageing for a dual outcome.
Rosacea is an inflammatory skin condition that presents as persistent redness, and is often mistaken for simple flushing. When left untreated, ongoing inflammation can contribute to collagen degradation over time, accelerating visible signs of ageing.
BBL (broadband light), when appropriately prescribed, targets underlying inflammation and helps reduce the visible red appearance associated with the condition.
At DOCTOR SHAMMI, this is rarely used in isolation. Dr Shammi layers it with complementary modalities such as ClearSilk and ClearV, alongside additional wavelengths where clinically indicated, to address both vascular and inflammatory components while supporting overall skin quality and healthy ageing.

THE PROCESS
The Consultation
You will have an in-clinic assessment with Dr Shammi to determine your bespoke treatment settings and the number of passes required to achieve optimal results.
This consultation is essential, as Dr Shammi calibrates settings in accordance with your skin type, tone, and any individual nuances that need to be considered to ensure safe and effective treatment delivery.
The consultation fee may be applied towards your treatment cost, subject to our terms and conditions.
The Treatment
Dr Shammi prescribes BBL (broadband light) as a series of treatments, with the full plan and treatment intervals outlined during your consultation.
Your protocol may incorporate complementary modalities to optimise outcomes and address underlying skin changes that may be present beneath the skin surface. A combination of modalities is utilised within the session to optimise results, without additional charge.
Each treatment is 75 minutes and includes VISIA imaging to monitor and track progress.
The Price
Initial consultation $370 (new clients)
Review consultation $265
BBL (broadband light) is $1,050 per session.
Medicare recognises this treatment for the management of rosacea in eligible cases, and a rebate may be available for Medicare card holders where clinical criteria are met.
The consultation fee may be credited toward treatment, subject to terms and conditions.
